Da T.R.U.T.H.’s It’s Complicated: Album Review

Da T.R.U.T.H.’s recent album release, It’s Complicated, hits its audience with the complexity of our faith, thought patterns, belief, and relationship as a Christian opposed to what we may have been taught.

Da T.R.U.T.H. taps into the mind of the believer and non-believer, as he speaks of the various questions that commonly arise within us internally as we proclaim our faith daily. Questions such as, “How do I know that God is Real?”, “What happens after this life?”, “Is there only one way to God?”, “or “Is His name alive or Allah?” are elaborated and discussed between Da T.R.U.T.H. and Christian apologist, Dr. Ravi Zacharias.

“Mixed Signals”, which features Dr. Ravi Zacharias and Natalie Simms, touches on the topic of the doctrine of the Trinity. In “Religion”, Da T.R.U.T.H and Dr. Zacharias express that “religion is superficially the same, but yet fundamentally different.” Each song is expressed from a humanistic and theologian approach, and yet, humbly identifies the silent thoughts that are sometimes in the minds of the Christian believer and unbelievers alike.

Although the album forces listeners to think deeply upon their beliefs, it causes them to question their spiritual root system. As Christians, we are to be rooted and grounded in Christ (Ephesians 3:17) or be tossed by the winds of life and whither away (Matthew 13:5-6) by the vain philosophies of man (Colossians 2:8).

The album ends by pointing the audience back to the cross and ultimately identifying Jesus Christ as Lord. Here is the track list to the album:
