Nail care is important, and with salons and shops being closed during this time, new options have to be considered in order to keep nails looking their best. Many of us have been trying to figure out what to do. Below are 3 options to the dreaded “quarantine nails,” a term coined via social media to describe how bad our nails can look during quarantine with no upkeep.
1.Press-On Nails– These kits are sold by multiple brands (some nail techs specialize in press on nails), in various price points, and with different designs. Press ons can last 2 weeks with proper installation. There are various brands, but my personal favorite is The Nailest. They have affordable nails in various sizes, shapes, and designs that come with instructions and everything you need to apply them.
2.Pre-packaged Dip kits– Dip powder is a great alternative to acrylic, and it’s simple and easy to use at home. It encourages nail growth and protects the nails. Couturenailzz has an awesome set that comes with everything you need including step by step instructions for multiple uses. The starter kit is $60 and includes the color of your choice. Additional dip colors can be purchased for $10. You can preorder by contacting @couturenailzz via Instagram or by visiting https://www.facebook.com/2277003962563051/ on Facebook. Available colors are listed below.
3.Poly Nail kits– poly gel is a hybrid between acrylic and gel. It’s softer than acrylic and easy to manipulate. It doesn’t cure on its own, you have to use a UV or led light. Multiple looks can be achieved with poly gel and the can last for 3 weeks. You can find many kits by various brands online. Check out this YouTube tutorial using Modelones this kit can be purchased on Amazon for $52.99. https://youtu.be/dGDsUV95qJQ

Though some cities are opening for non-essential activities such as nails, many are still under quarantine. Amid the growing concerns for the return of the coronavirus, it’s important that we understand how to maintain our beauty.
