The Clark Sisters honored on Essence Empowerment Stage at the 2016 Essence Festival

The streets of New Orleans, Louisiana filled rapidly over this past July 4th weekend as fans came together, once again, to celebrate the 2016 Essence Festival.

Gospel artists and listeners joined in to commemorate the honorable Clark Sisters as the 2016 Essence’s All-Star Gospel Tribute on the Empowerment Experience honorees.

“The ESSENCE Empowerment Experience Stage remains the heartbeat of Festival weekend with its diverse and impactful programming aimed at enlightening and inspiring our community,” said ESSENCE Editor-in-Chief Vanessa K. De Luca.”

Gospel artists such as their very own daughter/niece Kierra Sheard, Grammy nominees Travis Greene, and Brian Courtney Wilson, all hit the stage to bring on the praise, whereas, keynote speakers such as Iyanla Vanzant, Tyra Banks, Terri McMillian, graced the stage to empower their audience at what is known to be the Nation’s Largest Gathering of African-American Women.
