Christian Hip-Hop pioneers, The Cross Movement, reunite for a concert at the Legacy Conference in Chicago on July 21st-23rd. The Cross Movement is also being honored that night with Legacy’s Lifetime Award.
The Cross Movement has not performed together since 2008. In honor of the group, a statement from Legacy was released:
“The Legacy Conference is excited to honor the legacy of Cross Movement as being pioneers who blended theology with hip hop…They left their mark on the urban culture which continues strong today.”
Based out of Philadelphia, The Cross Movement produced 7 albums, including Heaven’s Mentality, House of Representatives, and HiStory: Our place in His Story, and has received 2 Stellar Award Nominations, and 3 Grammy Nominations. They helped catapult the career of many popular artists today, such as Da. T.R.U.T.H and FLAME.
Other guests at The Legacy Conference include Andy Mineo, Jackie Hill Perry, Propaganda, and more. The conference includes workshops, concerts, and listening sessions. Its mission is to “Equip the urban church to make disciples today!”
