I’m pretty sure that anyone who is a lover of contemporary Christian worship has been anticipating new music from Kari Jobe, and her new release The Gardendefinitely delivers. If you haven’t had the opportunity to hear it, you could be missing not only a beautiful worship experience, but possibly some first-hand wisdom on how to handle grief and be healed.
In an interview with CBN, Jobe explains that in 2015, her sister experienced a miscarriage at the end of her term. During that the same time, Jobe was also pregnant. This situation shook their family and tested her faith.
In The Garden, through each song, she shares how God showed her that unlike us, He takes the most grievous situations and transforms them into beauty. The song, “I Will Sing” was written after Jobe’s family held the funeral for her niece and was based on her declaration to praise God through any situation, including those that cause us the most pain.
Jobe’s testimony should be an inspiration to us all—whatever trials come our way, there is always a purpose more beautiful than what we can see.
