For four years, we have all been waiting for the return of the Marys. Well, it is safe to say that they’re back. Grammy winning artists, Mary Mary, have returned with the premiere of their video, “Back to You ”, which was produced by Warren Campbell and was inspired by the upcoming motion picture, Ben-Hur. The song depicts the story of redemption, reconciliation, and forgiveness, which is portrayed within the film amongst the relationship between characters, Judah Ben-Hur and his brother, Messala.
The hook of the song says “If I gotta fight through the fire, if I gotta walk on water, just get me back to you, if I gotta run though the desert and stormy weather, just get me back to you.” The lyrics speak out against hatred amongst the ones that they love.
These words could also be applied to Tina and Erica, as the state of their joint musical career has since been in question. However, the song makes a bold statement as the duo seems determined to fight for their very own relationship as it relates to Mary Mary. Let’s keep our hope strong and anticipation high for more tunes from our favorite sister duo, Mary Mary.
